Today around 13:00 the 2House was alerted to a fully involved coal breaker fire in neighboring Atlas. 2Truck arrived first and set up immediately for aerial water tower operations. 2Engine had a hydrant feeding Atlas 21Engine which began initial attack. Due due the unsafe stability of the structure, crews were ordered to defensive attack only. Multiple alarms sounded with water being supplied from separate hydrant grids, as well as, tanker shuttles. 2Truck, 34Truck, and 22Engine provided aerial operations. Numerous engines supplied duce and a halfs and portable monitors. 5Rescue provided manpower for exterior attack. Crews did a good job dealing with the heavy timber construction and coal fuel that contributed to a heavy fire load.
