Fire Prevention Week
As in the past, the Anthracite is committed to teaching fire prevention to the children of Mount Carmel. On Saturday, September 26th, the fire department kicked off Fire Prevention Week with a demonstration in the Town Park of fire apparatus. This year included a smoke house to teach how to crawl low in smoke, a coloring contest, water battle, stop, drop, & roll demo, fire safety videos, food & refreshments, along with a vehicle extrication demonstration. Smoke detectors were given out to those that neded them and children were handed fire safety packets and plastic fire hats. Pictures coming soon.
The annual elementary school demonstration was held today. Thanks to the Clovers, fire police, Atlas, Beaverdale, and Natalie fire companies for helping us with the demo.
The Cub Scouts will visit the Clover Hose tomorrow evening.
The Anthracite along with the rest of the fire department will visit Winnie The Pooh Daycare Center on Thursday morning and the girl scouts will visit the Anthracite on Tuesday evening, October 13th.
The Mount Carmel Jets youth football team will have a bon fire and pep rally on Sunday evening, the Anthracite will also be there.
