On Thursday, July 15th, at 12:20 AM, the 2Truck was called to the Borough of Kulpmont for a confirmed WSF. Upon arrival, the truck found a clear path to side A of the commercial property. The truck crew didn't waste any time deploying ground ladders and sending a 2 man crew to the roof for vertical ventilation in an effort to save the adjoining properties. Only minutes into their work, the situation deteriorated drastically and the roof team was called to evacuate the roof before their cuts could be finished. In an effort to move the ladder and the roof crew from harms way, the roof saw became lodged in the rungs of the ladder and damaged a few rungs, therefore placing the truck OOS. The truck continued to support Kulpmont Fire Department with it's manpower and equipment.
Overall both of the adjoining properties were spared any significant fire damage and no injuries were reported.
The truck was on the scene for about 5 hours.
As of this time the 2Truck will be in "LIMITED SERVICE", meaning that the aerial portion of the ladder truck is out of service. Everything else on the truck will remain in service.
